The reason why we began this journey (Zayith more than a brand)
Our Story
Zayith began quietly, years ago, in a home in North Central Nigeria.
A curious young girl sat on the kitchen counter of a Plateau Tarok family, watching yogurt being made from scratch, learning, tasting, and asking questions. What started as a simple shared family recipe slowly became a deep appreciation for food made with care, intention, and honesty.
Years later, that curiosity grew into Zayith.
From Tradition to Craft
At Zayith, we believe food should nourish both the body and the people behind it. Today, our products are produced in a controlled factory environment, combining time-honoured recipes with modern food processing standards to ensure quality, safety, and consistency at scale.
Every bottle or tub of our yogurt is crafted with this belief at its core; made from high quality dairy and flavoured with real, farm-grown fruits.
We don’t believe in shortcuts. Our recipes are built with a few simple, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, formulated to be rich in flavour, clean in composition, and consistently satisfying. The result is yogurt that feels wholesome, tastes indulgent, and delivers so much nourishment in every scoop or sip.
From the Soil to Your Table
Our fruits are sourced directly from smallholder farmers across Nigeria-over 80% of whom are women.
These are women who farm not just for commerce, but to sustain their families, care for their children, and build stability within their communities. At Zayith, we strongly believe that when a woman is empowered, families are better supported, children are cared for, and futures are secured, from school fees to daily nourishment.
This belief shapes how we work.
By sourcing directly from farmers, paying fair prices, and removing all middlemen, we ensure our partners receive the full value of their produce. Beyond purchasing, we are intentional about building long-term relationships that contribute meaningfully to livelihoods and help break cycles of poverty. Most of our farmers have been with us since the inception of Zayith.
